Kathryn Gustafson, the landscape architect, established her practice in Paris in 1980, working as a sole practitioner in collaboration with architects, artists, and engineers. Her completed works from this time in France encompass a wide range of landscape projects. These works include parks, such as Fragments of Garden History (Les Jardins de l'Imaginaire) in Terrasson, landscapes associated with major buildings, such as the headquarters for Shell, Esso, and L'Oréal, and urban squares, including The Square of Human Rights in Evry and Square Rachmaninov in Paris.

Kathryn Gustafson is working throughout Europe and North America with the two offices, Gustafson Porter in London and Gustafson Guthrie Nichol in Seattle.
